The draft game meat strategy for South Africa, 22 formulates the approach and implementation plan to expand, differentiate and formalize the game meat industry in South Africa which has shown considerable potential for growth. If developed properly, and considered from a sustainability perspective, this market is compatible with biodiversity conservation and could contribute favorably to economic development, job creation, food security, and sectoral transformation.
